The hopefuls of the German gothic scene are back! Almost three years after WISBORG’s lastalbum “Into The Void”, the band is a different one: Appearances at M’era Luna, Amphi Festivaland Plage Noire as well as opening for Lord Of The Lost on their tour for the ESC hit album”Blood & Glitter” have not only significantly increased the popularity of the goth rockers, they havealso merged WISBORG, which have now grown into a quartet, into a permanent unit.Time for a musical exclamation mark! A band-titled album almost always marks a turning point inone’s own discography, and for “WISBORG” this is true in more than one way. For the first time,the band worked with Lord Of The Lost frontman Chris Harms as producer, who also appears asa feature guest on the lead single “Im freien Fall” (the music video for the song was filmed on thejoint tour in the locations as well as in the nightliner).The band is also breaking new ground visually: “WISBORG” breaks with the black-red-beige colorscheme of the previous releases and presents a photo of the band as an album cover for the very firsttime! Stefan “Heilemania” Heilemann is responsible for the image and the visual design.In addition, “WISBORG” features German lyrics for the very first time – exclusively!. “Singing inGerman is a double-edged sword,” explains frontman Konstantin Michaely. “If your audienceunderstands right away what your songs are about, then the lyrics naturally carry more weight.This makes you more vulnerable, but at the same time more approachable. Many bands hide behindthe English language, we have actively decided to break down this hurdle and to get into moredirect contact with our fans from now on.”WISBORG’s usual thematic melange of love, sex anddeath with an existentialist superstructure is also expressed in the new album, but on the one hand itis presented in a much more nuanced way, on the other hand it is supplemented by themes such asloneliness and isolation in the big city, social anxiety and failing to live up to one’s ownexpectations.Last but definitely not least, the songwriting of the eleven tracks is more sophisticated than ever.”WISBORG” goes straight to the ear, but with each subsequent listen, it unfolds new levels insteadof wearing out and doesn’t care about genre standards. Nikolas Eckstein and Konstantin Michaely don’t play it safe, but continue their own, unique musical path – the future of goth is now!
To coincide with the release, the band will accompany Schattenmann on their “Día De Muertos”tour in February and March. In this context, the songs of the new album “WISBORG” will bepresented live for the first time!

Die Hoffnungsträger der deutschen Gothic-Szene sind zurück! Fast drei Jahre nach WISBORGs letztem Album „Into The Void“ ist die Band eine andere: Auftritte beim M’era Luna, Amphi Festival und Plage Noire sowie im Vorprogramm von Lord Of The Lost auf deren Tour zum ESC-
Erfolgsalbum „Blood & Glitter“ haben nicht nur die Bekanntheit der Goth-Rocker erheblich gesteigert, sie haben die live mittlerweile zum Quartett herangewachsene Band auch zu einer festen Einheit verschmolzen. Zeit für ein musikalisches Ausrufezeichen! Ein bandbetiteltes Album markiert fast immer einen Wendepunkt in der eigenen Diskografie, und für „WISBORG“ trifft das gleich in mehrfacher Hinsicht zu. So arbeitete die Band erstmals mit Lord Of The Lost-Frontmann Chris Harms als Produzenten zusammen, der auch als Feature-Gast auf der Leadsingle „Im freien Fall“ in Erscheinung tritt (das Musikvideo zum Song wurde auf der gemeinsamen Tour in den Locations sowie im Nightliner gedreht).
Auch visuell geht die Band neue Wege: „WISBORG“ bricht mit dem schwarz-rot-beigen Farbschema der bisherigen Veröffentlichungen und präsentiert erstmals ein Foto der Band als Albumcover! Für das Bild und die visuelle Ausgestaltung zeichnet Stefan „Heilemania“ Heilemann verantwortlich.
Darüber hinaus finden sich auf „WISBORG“ erstmals deutsche Texte – und zwar ausschließlich!. „Auf Deutsch zu singen ist ein zweischneidiges Schwert“, erklärt Frontmann Konstantin Michaely.„Wenn dein Publikum auf Anhieb versteht, wovon deine Stücke handeln, dann haben die Texte
naturgemäß mehr Gewicht. Dadurch macht man sich verletzlicher, aber zugleich auch nahbarer. Viele Bands verstecken sich hinter der englischen Sprache, wir haben uns aktiv dafür entschieden, diese Hürde abzubauen und ab sofort in einen direkteren Kontakt mit unseren Fans zu treten.“ Die
von WISBORG gewohnte thematische Melange aus Liebe, Sex und Tod mit existentialistischem Überbau findet auch im neuen Album ihren Ausdruck, wird aber zum einen viel nuancierter präsentiert, zum anderen durch Themen wie Einsamkeit und Isolation in der Großstadt, soziale Ängste und das Scheitern an den eigenen Erwartungen ergänzt.
Last but most definitely not least ist auch das Songwriting der elf Stücke ausgefeilter denn je. „WISBORG“ geht direkt ins Ohr, entfaltet aber bei jedem weiteren Hören neue Ebenen anstatt sich abzunutzen und schert sich nicht um Szene-Standards. Nikolas Eckstein und Konstantin Michaely
