Wisborg – From The Cradle To The Coffin

WISBORG sind ein Phänomen: quasi aus dem Nichts veröffentlichte das Duo 2018 sein Debütalbum „The Tragedy Of Seconds Gone“. Durch Auftritte auf dem Wave-Gotik-Treffen, dem Autumn Moon Festival und unzählige Clubshows mit Bands wie She Past Away, Das Ich oder Der Fluch waren sie plötzlich in aller Munde.
Mit ihrem zweiten Album From The Cradle To The Coffin setzen WISBORG ihren Siegeszug konsequent fort. Der Sound ist noch immer tief verwurzelt im Post-Punk und Darkwave der Achtzigerjahre, allerdings experimenteller, moderner und mit mehr elektronischen Elementen versetzt als noch auf ihrer ersten Platte. The Sisters Of Mercy treffen auf Nine Inch Nails, Type O Negative und Muse – mitunter wird man auch an modernere Künstler wie The Soft Moon oder IAMX erinnert. Doch WISBORG sind viel mehr als bloß die Summe dieser Teile: Mit From The Cradle To The Coffin haben sie sich ihre eigene musikalische Nische geschaffen und bringen frischen Wind in die deutsche Musiklandschaft.
Drum Machines und klirrende Gitarren, drückende Synths und liebliches Klavier. Dazu eine tiefe, sinnliche Männerstimme, die jedes schwarze Herz sofort in ihren Bann zieht. An dieser Kombination kommt die Gothic-Szene 2019 nicht vorbei!

WISBORG are a phenomenon: Out of nowhere, the duo released their debut album “The Tragedy Of Seconds Gone” in 2018. Constantly touring, the band soon established itself within the German gothic scene – playing shows with bands like She Past Away, Das Ich and TV Smith & the Bored Teenagers. WISBORG were also part of the 2018 line-up of Wave-Gotik-Treffen and Autumn Moon, among other festivals.
With their second record From The Cradle To The Coffin, the band continues their rise to the top. WISBORG’s sound is still rooted in the post-punk and dark wave of the eighties, but it is way more experimental and modern than before and features more electronic elements. The Sisters Of Mercy meet Nine Inch Nails, Type O Negative and Muse – sometimes even more contemporary bands like The Soft Moon or IAMX. But WISBORG are more than just the sum of these parts: From The Cradle To The Coffin is a unique piece of music and brings fresh air into the scene.
