Die Band ist eine internationale Zusammenarbeit von Ariel Maniki (Costa Rica) von Ariel Maniki and the Black Halos und Zac Campbell (USA) von The Kentucky Vampires. Ariel übernimmt Gesang, Texte, zusätzliche Gitarren, Programmierung, Tasten und live Rhythmusgitarren; während Zac Gitarren, Schlagzeug, Programmierung, Tasten, Bassgitarre und live Gitarren beisteuert. Live-Shows beinhalten Unterstützung von Ian Joseph am Live-Bass und Maggie Campbell an den Live-Keyboards. „A Dream or a Vision“, das Debütalbum der Band, das über Danse Macabre Records veröffentlicht wurde, sind 10 Tracks reiner Gothic Rock von Anfang bis Ende. Erinnert an Namen wie Nosferatu, Christian Death, The Mission, Suspiria und ähnliche Namen in der Gothic-Rock-Szene – während gleichzeitig der eigene moderne und einzigartige Klang der Band gewahrt bleibt. Hämmernde Drums, treibende Bässe, wunderschön geschichtete Gitarren, ätherische und emotionale Keyboards und Synthesizer, und gespenstische Gesänge geben dem Album einen unverwechselbaren und düsteren Klang. The Waning Moon is a pure, unapologetic guitar based gothic rock band harkening back to the sounds of the 80s and 90s goth rock scenes with their own modern take on the genre. The band is an international collaboration of Ariel Maniki (Costa Rica) of Ariel Maniki and the Black Halos, and Zac Campbell (USA) of The Kentucky Vampires. Ariel commands vocals, Lyrics, additional guitars, programming, keys, and live rhythm guitars; while Zac controls guitars, drums, programming, keys, bass guitar, and live guitars. Reminiscent of the likes of Nosferatu, Christian Death, The Mission, Suspiria, and other similar names in the gothic rock scene – all while maintaining the bands own modern and unique sound. Hammering drums, driving bass, beautifully layered guitars, ethereal and emotional keyboards and synths, and haunted vocals give the album a distinct and dark sound. Lyrically the album wanders through dark and haunting emotional landscapes, tragic love stories and deep dark introspections. Several songs contain multiple different meanings allowing the listener for personal interpretation.
