Sanity Obscure – Through

Sanity Obscure steht für die geladene Mischung aus Doom- und Gothicmetal: Anspruchsvolle Lyrics, druckvoller Sound, Wechselgesang – Melancholisch sehnsuchtsvoll – und über allem liegt der Hauch Nostalgie vom Gothic Metal der 90’er, der aktuell in der Landschaft der harten Musik eine Nische besetzt, deren Fans Durststrecken gewohnt sind, wenn es um heiße Neuerscheinungen geht. Eine solche heiße Neuerscheinung steht mit Sanity Obscure’s neuem Album „Through“ kurz bevor!

Ursprünglich gegründet vor 22 Jahren in Nürnberg, hatte die Band einen guten Start. Unter damals teilweise anderer Besetzung standen u.a. Supportgigs für Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, My Dying Bride und Auftritte auf Festivals wie dem WGT auf dem Programm.

Nach biografischen Umbrüchen gingen die Bandmitglieder kurze Zeit nach Veröffentlichung des Albums Springtime‘s Masquerade(2009) getrennte Wege. Der Gründer, Gitarrist und – wie man sagen kann – Kopf der Band Schlössi, sowie die damalige Keyboarderin Jenna haben das kreative Konzept der Band jedoch nie verworfen, sondern das Projekt gemeinsam weitergeführt. Nach Verlegung des Bandgeschehens in den Raum Rhön Grabfeld hat sich schließlich eine neue Besetzung gefunden: Jenna übernimmt nun den Gesang und den Bass, Schlössi bleibt seiner Gitarre treu und Stephan ist mit Growls und Gitarre dabei. Das neue Album „Through“ umfasst 11 Songs und soll bald veröffentlicht werden.

Sanity Obscure stands for an exciting mixture of Doom and Gothic metal: sophisticated lyrics, powerful sound, alternating vocals – melancholy longing – and above all there is a hint of nostalgia from Gothic Metal of the 90s, which currently occupies a niche in the landscape of hard music whose fans are used to dry spells when it comes to hot new releases. Such a hot new release now comes from Sanity Obscure with their new album ‚Through’!

Originally founded 22 years ago in Nuremberg, the band got off to a good start. Support gigs for Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, My Dying Bride and appearances at festivals such as the WGT were on the program.

After biographical upheavals, the band members went their separate ways shortly after the release of the album Springtime’s Masquerade (2009). The founder, guitarist and – as you can say – head of the band Schlössi, as well as the keyboard player at the time Jenna never rejected the creative concept of the band, but continued the project together. After moving the band to the Rhön-Grabfeld area, a new line-up was finally found: Jenna now takes over the vocals and bass, Schlössi stays true to his guitar and Stephan takes the growls and the guitar. The new album „Through“ consists of 11 songs and will soon be available.
