Nach und nach gesellen sich Streicher hinzu, gefolgt vom Rest der Band, bis der Song in einem ekstatischen Ausbruch von Freiheit und Freude gipfelt. „Der Song wurde stark von vergangenen Jahrzehnten beeinflusst“, verrät Flora. „Ich hatte eine Phase, in der ich viel Kate Bush gehört habe, und ich wollte so etwas wie unseren eigenen ‚Freebird‘ oder ‚November Rain‘ erschaffen. Am Ende haben wir uns entschieden, das Album mit dieser Botschaft von Hoffnung und Glück zu beenden.“
Thematisch reflektiert „Outside“ die Gefühle und Erkenntnisse, die entstehen, wenn man die Türen der Kirche endgültig hinter sich schließt. Es gibt keinen Donner, der einen erschlägt – stattdessen erwartet einen ein Meer aus leuchtenden Lichtern in der Dunkelheit. „Ich habe mir meinen Lieblingsfriedhof zu Allerheiligen vorgestellt“, erklärt Flora. „Man läuft zwischen all den Kerzen und Grabsteinen hindurch und realisiert, wie viel Licht in dem ist, was man einst als Dunkelheit wahrgenommen hat. Wenn man die Religion hinter sich lässt und hinaus in die Dunkelheit tritt, erkennt man, dass es keine Verdammnis gibt – nur Liebe.“
Die Band, die 2020 bei Danse Macabre Records unterschrieb, besteht aus Flora Kok (Gesang, Keyboards, akustische Gitarren), Kimmo Laaksonen (Gitarren), Jani Ilander (Bass) und Jani Vilhunen (Schlagzeug). Mit ihrem Debütalbum „Invite“ aus dem Jahr 2021 haben sie bereits gezeigt, dass sie mehr als nur eine weitere Gothic-Rock-Band sind.
