Mit traditioneller Deathrock-Ästhetik, gemischt mit psychedelischen Farben und Verspieltheit, bieten Batboner aus Norwegen etwas anderes in einem Genre, das an sich „etwas anderes” ist. Die Musik orientiert sich an Deathrock, Dark Punk, Gothic Rock und Postpunk, lässt sich aber von einer Vielzahl von Genres wie Progressive Rock, Psytrance, Black Metal und Surf inspirieren. Der Hauptkomponist und Gitarrist Yod Amygdala zielt mit seiner Musik sowohl auf das Herz als auch auf den Verstand, während der Texter und Sänger Floyd die Seele mit eindringlichen und seltsamen Fragmenten von Träumen, Erinnerungen und persönlichen Situationen nährt. Dr. Love bringt das Herz mit beruhigenden, aber druckvollen Basslines in Schwung und Snorre bringt deinen Körper mit seinen tanzbaren Drum-Grooves in Form. Watching Batboner live is like watching a boss fight in a Japanese role-playing game!» With traditional deathrock aesthetics mixed with psychedelic colors and playfulness, Batboner gives you something different in a genre that is in itself «something different». The music is centered around deathrock, dark punk, gothic rock and postpunk, but takes inspiration from a multitude of genres such as progressive rock, psytrance, black metal and surf. Everything that can fit may be used and abused. Lead composer and guitarist Yod Amygdala aims the music towards both your heart and mind, while lyricist and vocalist Floyd nurtures your soul with haunting and strange fragments of dreams, memories and personal situations. Dr. Love brings the heart with soothing, yet punchy basslines and Snorre pounds your body into shape with his dancy drum grooves. Every part of the above is thrown into a cathrathic melting-pot.
