Was als Progressive-Rock Band in den Mitt-90ern startete, ist nun zu einem der wohl bewegendsten elektronischen Musikprojekte kondensiert.
Die Musikpresse überschüttet THE FLOOD mit Lob und euphorischen Kritiken jenseits der 90% Marke, und „In Love Or Despair“ war mehr als 10 Wochen lang in den Deutschen – und Europäischen Alternative Charts (DAC /EAC Charts), mit der fantastischen Position 2. der European Alternative Charts!
Der klassisch trainierte Markus Hof, Sänger und Multi-Instrumentalist, kombiniert Electropop mit allen erdenklichen Spielarten der dunklen Alternative-Szene.
Es mag Referenzen zu den Darkwave-Bands aus den 80ern geben, aber THE FLOOD ist etwas sehr modernes. Wenn die Musik nicht von einem treibenden Rhythmus angeschoben wird, ist THE FLOOD ein langsam tanzender Sturm der Emotionen.
THE FLOOD benutzt eine archaische Herangehensweise an die Musik, aus einer Zeit wo der erste Funken eines Songs eine Emotion war, die übermittelt werden wollte, die sich ihren Weg durch die Psyche an die hörbare Oberfläche bahnte. Es ist ein Werk der Liebe zur echten, handgemachten Musik. Auch wenn THE FLOOD Synthesizer benutzt (sehr neue und sehr alte analoge), ist alles handgespielt, nicht gesampled und nicht auto-tuned. So wie Musik sein soll.
Auch wenn die meisten Songs einen starken Rhythmus haben, gibt es genug Tiefe und Platz, dass man sich hineinfallen lassen und davon treiben lassen kann.

What started out as a progressive rock band in the mid-90s has now condensed into some of the most moving electronic music ever written.
The press and critics were euphoric and gave THE FLOOD reviews at the 90% mark, and they have been more than 10 weeks in the  German- and European Alternative Charts (DAC / EAC Charts), topping the EAC at a fantastic position 2.
The classical-trained singer and multi-instrumentalist Markus Hof combines synthpop with all kinds of musical currents of the dark alternative sector.
There may be references to dark wave bands of the 80s, but it’s something very modern. When it’s not driven by a bouncy rhythm, THE FLOOD is a slowly waltzing thunderstorm of feelings.
THE FLOOD uses an archaic approach to music, from a time when the first spark of a song was an emotion that needed to be conveyed, an emotion that found it’s way through the psyche onto the audible surface.  It is a labour of love, of love to real hand-made music. Even if THE FLOOD uses synthesizers (very new and very old analogue ones), everything is hand-played, not-sampled, not auto-tuned. It’s how it should be.
Even if most songs have a strong rhythm, there is enough depth and space to let yourself fall into and be carried away.
